The Circle City is home to a number of annual events that draw thousands of visitors. These range from the world-famous Indianapolis 500 to smaller celebrations like the Indy Irish Fest, and they offer something for everyone in all seasons. It’s why so many people love living here!
Broad Ripple Art Fair- May
The Broad Ripple Art Fair is held in Historic Broad Ripple Village on Main Street every year. Featuring two days of music, food and arts & crafts from local artists, it’s an event that people look forward to all year long! The festival also includes a juried selection of fine art for viewing as well.
Broadripple Arts Festival- June
Held annually on the Monon Trail at 62nd street, this is one of Indy’s most popular festivals. Music and arts are enjoyed by over 100 thousand attendees each year who come out to enjoy the fun in Central Indiana’s favorite neighborhood – Broad Ripple. A number of big name musical acts perform live during this weekend celebration including headliners like Erykah Badu, The Roots and Blues Traveler.
Indianapolis Irish Fest- July
Held in the historic Holy Cross Abbey at Saint John’s Park downtown, this is one of Indy’s favorite festivals! Featuring live music on multiple stages all weekend long with a number of big name acts like Gaelic Storm and Celtic Woman – there truly is something for everyone here including family games, crafts & food booths alongside tons of local artists showcasing their work. It’s an event that celebrates Indianapolis’ proud Irish heritage while also welcoming newcomers to our great city any time of year!
Indy Jazz Fest- September
The oldest jazz festival in the Midwest (over 40 years), it takes place every Labor Day Weekend by offering live music under the museum’s glass roof in the Oldfields-Morton House. A number of well known jazz musicians have performed during this weekend long festival including Dave Brubeck, Wynton Marsalis and Ramsey Lewis just to name a few.
Indiana State Fair- August/September (ongoing)
Every year Central Indiana celebrates our State Fair at the historic Indianapolis fairgrounds with over 70 attractions & concerts on 13 stages – not to mention all kinds of great food! It’s truly an adventure for people of all ages that offers something fun every day it runs from mid-August through Labor Day Weekend each year. Come see why Indy has one of the best state fairs in America!
Annual Tree Lighting- November
A beloved holiday tradition, the Indianapolis City Market hosts a winter wonderland of family fun for all ages at this tree lighting each year! The market has been transformed into an outdoor ice skating rink (for a small fee) where kids can take lessons and enjoy some hot cocoa & other treats. There’s also carolers throughout and big name musical performances like Boys II Men in 2017 – making it one of Indy’s most cherished events to kick off the season!
Christmas Town USA- Late November/Early December
Known as “The Most Magical Place on Earth” during our holidays, Christmas Town USA is held at Whitestown’s Holiday World amusement park every fall with over two million lights adorning the park and rides! It’s a winter wonderland that features holiday music, amusement rides & attractions for people of all ages. There are also Santa meet-and-greets so kids can get their picture taken with the man himself to keep as a cherished memory on those cold December nights!
All Seasons Plaza Lights- Late November/Early December
This is another Indy tradition held annually at All Seasons Church in Avon featuring over 300 thousand lights covering its campus – including multiple light tunnels and displays throughout the property along with food trucks, live entertainment and fun activities like crafts for children every night it runs from Thanksgiving through New Year’s Eve. Come enjoy this beautiful display created by volunteers each year while you usher in the season together!
